Updates

Nick had a doctor's appointment on Friday. Actually, he had a doctor's appointment today, however, last Thursday, he was coughing and sneezing a lot, so I called Friday morning to see if I could get him in Friday. All was well. He probably has allergies, however, he is still too little to get allergy meds. Hopefully, allergy season will be over soon.

Nick has been doing really well. The doctor was happy with his weight gain. As of Friday, he was 10lb 8 oz. He gained 1lb 4oz in a month. While he is small for his age, he is gaining well, and that is all that matters. When his age is adjusted for the prematurity, he is in the 25th percentile. While that is still small, considering he was in the 11th percentile when he was born, we are heading in the right direction.

Nick is really eating well. In the last few weeks, he has started taking 3-4 ounces every 3-4 hours. His appetite is really growing. He has also entered into a new sleep pattern, which I hesitate to talk about for fear of jinxing it. Lately, Nick has been awake more during the day, and sleeping more at night. Before, he woke every 3-4 hours to eat. Meaning he woke 2-3 times a night. Now, he generally goes to bed somewhere around 8:30-9:00 and sleeps until 2-3. Then goes back to sleep until about 6:30-7:00. That has been a really nice sleeping pattern.

He is talking and cooing so much now. He loves to be talked to. He loves to talk back to you. He just smiles and smiles, when he is talking too you. It is amazing the changes that he is going through. He is getting so big, and starting to change his habits. I can't believe how far he has come. I can't wait to see what comes next!
